Call for older volunteers in bird flu vaccine trial in WA
Researchers at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth are calling for children and seniors to take part in a new trial of a vaccine to protect against the potentially deadly bird flu. Two of the age groups most at risk from influenza, and bird flu in particular, are young children and the elderly.
A very important part of controlling bird flu would be vaccination and researchers have recently completed a study on vaccination in adults. They now want to extend this study into how well the bird flu vaccine works in young children and in seniors.
