Brisbane looks at future of aged care
Brisbane City Council has set up the Lord Mayor’s Taskforce into Retirement and Aged Care.
The taskforce will review Brisbane’s planning scheme and development assessment process to find ways to establish more aged care facilities and age friendly accommodation, especially in the inner suburbs.
The aim is to ensure that seniors can remain within their own neighbourhoods as their housing needs change.
The recommendation report will be presented at the end of the year and any recommendations endorsed by Council will be considered as part of the review of the Brisbane City Plan 2000.
