Barcaldine welcomes senior travellers to volunteer

Barcaldine Shire Council said it is hoping to attract a voluntary work force from the thousands of grey nomads who visit western Queensland every year.
The council is working on an idea to use the expertise and skills of retired travellers for voluntary work on community projects.
Mayor Rob Chandler said planned projects include maintenance upgrades to the Australian Workers Heritage Centre and an eco tourism centre.
