Baby boomer bands bring back nostalgia
Australia is bracing itself for a tidal wave of rock nostalgia this summer, with baby boomer favourites topping the bill. Guitar ace Eric Clapton and legendary singer Carole King are set to join Billy Joel, U2, as certain starters.
Others confirmed or tipped to be heading here for the summer rock festivals as well as stadium appearances are The Who, Elton John, Prince and George Michael. For the youngsters, Robbie Williams and Kylie are touring Australia.
Locals such as Daddy Cool ( who have a new album out) ,and Sherbert (now reincarnated as Daryl Braithwaite and the Highwaymen), are on the road entertaining baby boomer audiences.
And of course there are eternal rockers: Elvis Presley appears ‘live’ in a new concert tour during October. As the ad says ‘If you have never seen Elvis live in concert this is the closest you’ll ever get. You won’t believe your eyes.’
