Australia’s superannuation wealth is forecast to rise by 300% to more than $4,000 billion over the next 15 years, an industry study has found.
Much of that growth will be driven by government changes to super contributions, the study by Deloitte actuarial arm Trowbridge Deloitte reports.
The study forecasts the superannuation market will grow at 10% a year over the next 15 years from $1,010 billion in December 2006 to $4,136 billion by 2021.
The rise represents an increase of just over 300% and includes both pre-retirement and post-retirement income and lump sum assets.
The Trowbridge Deloitte model estimates post-retirement assets will grow almost twice as fast as pre-retirement assets.
