Assistance to Tamworth Meals on Wheels service in NSW
The Australian Government will contribute $561,000 to help Tamworth Meals on Wheels build a new commercial kitchen, with funding from the Regional Partnerships program.
The new kitchen will make it easier for Tamworth Meals On Wheels to meet the growing demand for its services. Currently the kitchen prepares up to 240 meals per day with demand continuing to increase due to the city’s growing and ageing population.
The new facility will also enable Tamworth Meals on Wheels to provide meals to people outside Tamworth, including the New England and northwest regions of New South Wales. These meals are currently being purchased at high cost from the local hospital.
