Ask Your Pharmacist Week

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, in partnership with the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia and the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association, is undertaking a national campaign to encourage the public to “Ask Your Pharmacist”.

Ask Your Pharmacist Week is being held this week from 25 to 30 September and aims to raise awareness of the essential services provided through pharmacies. The focus of the week is medicine management services such as Home Medicines Reviews and Consumer Medicine Information.

The medicine management services that are being promoted throughout the week are essential services provided by pharmacists for which to date there has been little public awareness. They support the Quality Use of Medicines principles as well as the professional guidelines across the pharmacy profession.

Pharmacy students are also on board to help spread the message. They will be out in local shopping centres with displays of consumer materials.
