Aged care services survey regulatory requirements

Posted
by DPS

Aged Care Australia Association (ACAA) and the Australian Catholic University (ACU), have contacted ACAA members to participate in a survey to estimate the costs associated with efforts to comply with regulatory requirements under the Aged Care Act (1997) and Quality Principles.

A similar survey was conducted in January 2006 relating to the Resident Classification Scale (RCS) which has now been replaced by the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI).

The current survey hopes to establish a basis for comparison of compliance costs across the range of state and federal regulations that apply to funding and validation, licensing and accreditation.

The online survey will run to 31 May. The data will be analysed and a profile of costings associated with regulatory compliance processes will be constructed and used to inform the aged care industry and policy review processes.
