Aged Care redevelopment in Forbes NSW
Work on the $16 million redevelopment of Jemalong Retirement Village (JRV) has begun after the project team comprising of representatives of the facility, Catholic Healthcare and the Forbes community held their first meeting.
Catholic Healthcare is redeveloping JRV on a green field site on Edward Street in Forbes with construction of the new facility expected to begin by November.
They said the site will be redeveloped into an aged care community for 91 residents.
The project has received one of the largest grants in NSW, with the Federal Government contributing $5.9 million of the estimated $16 million total budget.
Bathurst architects and planners, Havenhand and Mather, have been engaged by Catholic Healthcare to manage stage one of the development through to its completion and occupation.
Catholic Healthcare’s general manager residential aged care, Wendy Jeskie, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for Catholic Healthcare to work closely with a committed rural community who have already shown an enormous enthusiasm for the development of this service.”
