New Victorian government towards sustainable care
Leading Age Services Australia – Victoria (LASA Victoria) has congratulated Victorian Premier elect, Daniel Andrews, expressing its enthusiasm for working with the incoming Victorian Labor government towards a viable and sustainable aged care industry.

“We congratulate Mr Andrews and look forward to working with the new government across a variety of key policy areas that are vital for the ongoing viability and sustainability of our Members and the industry as a whole,” says Trevor Carr, LASA Victoria chief executive.
LASA Victoria welcomes Victorian Labor’s commitment to various aged care policy platforms and the alignment with a number of LASA Victoria’s key state election priorities such as investing in community and home care services, the promotion of positive ageing and growing rural and regional jobs and economies.
“In addition, LASA Victoria welcomes the incoming government’s assurances regarding supporting the development of the aged care workforce and we look forward to working collaboratively towards appropriate employment policies to ensure the sustainability of our industry,” Mr Carr says.
He also highlights LASA Victoria’s ongoing commitment to other key priorities areas, as outlined in its recent state election blueprint, that have not yet been specifically addressed by the Victorian Labor party.
“LASA Victoria will continue our strong commitment to addressing other key issues of importance to our members, such as the exemption of Victorian aged care providers from the Payroll Tax, improving housing outcomes for older Victorians and strengthening the work of the Commissioner for Senior Victorians.
“We look forward to discussing these priority areas with the incoming government to ensure the viability and sustainability of our industry to provide the upmost care and services for the benefit all older Victorians,” he says.
