Aged care info and statistics go live
A repository of information and statistics on Australia’s aged care sector has been launched by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) to improve aged care policy making.
The National Aged Care Data Clearinghouse can provide statistical information on clients and services within a range of national programs and services, including residential aged care, aged care packages provided in the community, the Transition Care Program, the National Respite for Carers Program and the Aged Care Assessment Program.
It was developed to provide aged care data to a range of stakeholders including policy makers, researchers, service providers and consumers.
The project is a component of the federal government’s Living Longer. Living Better. package of aged care reform measures under the sub-measure: Supporting aged care research and evaluation.
Most AIHW aged care information is published in its Aged care publications, with more detailed data available in its Aged care data cubes.
If you have a specific requirement for data or statistics not covered by any of the AIHW reports or online data, you can request aged care data from AIHW.
