Age no barrier for Elaine
Creativity doesn’t fade away with age and Queensland’s McGregor Summer School student Elaine Seary is proof.
The octogenarian, with a passion for painting, has been attending the University of Southern Queensland’s (USQ) residential performing, visual and creative arts school for 25 years and still loves the challenge.
“I’ve had an interest in creative arts since I was a young girl and when I first gave the McGregor School a try I had an absolutely wonderful time,” Mrs Seary said.
“Not only have I made some lifelong friends here, but I’ve been able to enjoy the concerts.
“We don’t get too many chances to see live music where I’m from so it’s just wonderful to hear the McGregor music students performing.”
This year marks the 46th anniversary of the McGregor Summer School, what has been described as Australia’s largest and longest running residential performing visual and creative arts school.
