Advocacy for SA retirement village residents

Retirement village residents in South Australia who have disputes with their village manager or administering authority now have a specialist advocacy service to represent them.

The state government has established the Retirement Village Residents Advocacy Service, to be run by Anglicare SA.

The service was set up to help older people without family and friends to feel more comfortable about raising issues about their living arrangements.

The service will help residents attend meetings with their village manager and Residential Tenancies Tribunal hearings.

The service initially is being run as a trial and will be evaluated in six months. This free service can be contacted on 8305 9440.
