Advancing the aged care workforce skills

Australia’s first teaching nursing home is being established by Deakin University and Southern Health.

It will provide the country’s first education and workforce development program designed specifically for the aged care sector.

It will also provide a real-life practice setting for student nurses and aged care workers to experience the industry and develop their skills.

The facility will be located in a new 100 bed, high and low residential aged care facility being built in Melbourne.
