Paving the way towards healthier ageing in Australia will be discussed by Shadow Minister for Health and Ageing, Bronwyn Bishop, tomorrow.

Minister Bishop will visit Queensland aged care provider Tall Trees’s Tanah Merah facility to discuss healthy ageing.

More than150 residents and seniors from the community are expected to attend the event from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Tall Trees cofounder, Phil Usher, says the day will be informative for the hundreds of seniors who attend.

“Minister Bishop plans to give the audience an overview of the issues facing aged care,” he says.

“Her talk at Tall Trees Tanah Merah will be a forum for people to ask questions and raise concerns about the key things that are currently affecting Australian seniors.”

Mr Usher adds some of Tall Tress’ networking partners such as Bendigo Community Bank and Whittaker McNaught will also be sitting in to keep abreast of seniors’ issues.

“We often have partners such as these present seminars at Tall Trees about how seniors can prevent the risk of fraud, or financial planning in their later years.

“On this occasion however, they’ll be in the audience taking the opportunity to gain a greater insight into pertinent issues affecting the health and aged care industry.”

Tall Trees Tanah Merah will also to be having an Asian dancing troupe performing on the day during afternoon tea.

For more information, visit www.talltrees.net.au or contact Jessica McKenna on (07) 3442 9376 to find out if seats are still available.
