2008-09 Aged Care Approvals Round underway
The Australian Government has announced the membership of its State and Territory Aged Care Planning Advisory Committees (ACPAC) – under the Aged Care Act.
This kicks off the beginning of the process for the 2008-2009 Aged Care Approvals Round.
The committees advise the Australian Government on the distribution of aged care places, including the different types of care and proportion of care, among the specified aged care planning regions.
These deliberations contribute to the planning process for the Aged Care Approvals Round.
The new committee members include industry experts, government representatives and consumers with extensive knowledge of aged care services.
The Aged Care Planning Advisory Committees are an important means through which the Government takes account of local needs for aged care such as specialised dementia places, respite care and the level of care required by local communities.
