$19 million to train aged care workers

The Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot, has announced state funding allocations for the $19 million allocated to train 4,000 aged care workers nationally.
“We believe in better planning for our aged care workforce and the Government is investing to improve quality of care, build the aged care workforce of the future and provide financial incentives for aged care workers and nurses to undertake further study,” Minister Elliot said.
Training places, a total of 4,045, will be allocated to all states and territories as follows:
- New South Wales 1,403
- Victoria 732
- Queensland 884
- South Australia 374
- Western Australia 449
- Tasmania 110
- Australian Capital Territory 60
- Northern Territory 32
