$14m to improve renal services in NSW
Renal services across NSW will be boosted following the injection of an additional $14 million to expand dialysis services and provide 176 new places for patients needing treatment, in an announcement made by Minister for Health, Reba Meagher.
The extra $14 million will see six new renal dialysis centres open in NSW providing an additional
dialysis chairs. With a further boost to staff and equipment in existing services, patient capacity will increase by 176 – and take the total number of dialysis chairs across the state to 561.
New renal dialysis centres will be established at:
. Manning Base Hospital – a new six chair unit
. Bega Hospital – a new three chair unit
. Mona Vale Hospital – a new six chair unit
. RPA Hospital- a new satellite unit of 10 chairs
. Fairfield Hospital – a new 12 chair unit
. Sutherland Hospital – a new 12 chair unit
