St Catherine's Community Care Services

Elaroo is a long day care centre in a secure, comfortable and familiar environment for people experiencing early symptoms of dementing illnesses. We are open weekdays from 7am-7pm to accommodate working carers.

The monthly activity program includes bus outings held on two days each week and a combined activity and exercise program designed to meet client needs held on three days each week. These include craft, gardening, men’s club and table / board / floor games.

Most of the cost of providing day care at Elaroo is met by a grant from the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). A daily fee is also charged to cover social services, personal care and meals.

A four week assessment trial period is conducted to assess suitability of clients and their needs before being admitted to Elaroo.
 
A newsletter is distributed monthly to inform of service information, up coming events, and carer support services.
