It is conveniently located 2.1 kilometres away from Cockburn Station, 750 metres from the closest bus stop, 1.9 kilometres from the Kwinana Freeway and has onsite visitor parking which makes it convenient for family and friends to visit or take residents out for an excursion.
Frank Prendergast House has been designed with five residential care homes accommodating 73 residents in generous sized quality fitted private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, reverse-cycle air conditioning, and personal TVs. Each home has a full size kitchen with an adjoining lounge & dining area, and offers an array of social and lifestyle activities for residents to appreciate. Residents can enjoy delicious meals from a Chef designed menu & with advanced notice are encouraged to invite family members to dine with them.
Residents can enjoy Tuesday evening bingo games and concerts every Friday afternoon. These may be musical, story-telling or dancing by professional performers. In addition, there are more active events such as bowls, bocce and miniature golf. There is something for every resident to enjoy & are invited, and encouraged to participate in the lifestyle programs that suit their own needs.
Clients receive professional clinical care from our team of Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses and access to other skilled health professionals such as General Practitioners, Podiatrists, Dietitians and Physiotherapists. In residential care, nursing services are available 24/7 and other allied health care services, during the day or as the residents' health requires.
Frank Prendergast offers a specialist high dependency unit for complex behavioural conditions and mental health needs. The home is dementia friendly & our onsite dementia consultants are also Registered Nurses. Short term respite accommodation, from one day to a number of weeks, is also offered, providing peace of mind for carers. It can also be an important step in the smooth transition of the care recipient into permanent residential care.
