Sir William Hall Hostel Welcomes You
‘Sir William Hall Hostel’ is part of the Vasey RSL Care organisation and we have a proud history of supporting veterans and war widows, as well as the general public.
Sir William Hall Hostel is set among mature gardens and borders the Austin Repatriation Hospital. Just across the road are our Ivanhoe Independent Living Units.
Our residents share many traditional Australian values – sincerity, humour, mateship, perseverance, generosity, courage and a larrikin spirit – values bred through a lifetime of living and working in this great country.
In return, our staff show respect, support and compassion. We are here to help you maintain your health, happiness and wellbeing: we believe in discovering what matters to you and what makes you unique.

About Vasey RSL Care
Vasey RSL Care is a not-for-profit organisation with five residential aged care homes. Our organisation is large enough to have economies of scale (such as centralised administration), but small enough to retain a personal touch and stay close to everyone in our community.
Our organisation was founded to support veterans from World War I and war widows from World War II. These beginnings have influenced every aspect of our organisation and continue to do so. Around two thirds of our residents have a background with the Australian Defence Forces, or are the widows of ex-service personnel (sometimes both).
The other third of our residents are from the general public.

Every Vasey RSL Care Home is Unique
Sir William Hall Hostel has all the things you’d expect in your home – good home-made food, regular cleaning, laundry service, health services, comfortable and cosy sitting rooms and plenty to keep you busy with an extensive lifestyle program.
But what makes it unique is the community of residents, staff and volunteers, and our links to the wider community – the local RSL and schools in the area, such as Our Lady of Mercy College Heidelberg and St Pius Primary School.
And as well as having people come to us, we get out & about using our own bus, having fish & chips in the park, visiting local cafes, movies and shopping centres, and going further afield with visits to the Toolangi Hotel, the animal farm and the Williamstown Beach.
In all we do, we aim for excellence in aged care.
