Interactive Jigsaw Puzzles (not MAC compatible) can be done on a personal computer or laptop. People don't need to know how to use a computer, they just need to be taught how to use a mouse.
In this series of CDs there are five different photos which have been converted to jigsaws of 12, 24, 40, 104 and 260 pieces each, making a total of 25 jigsaw puzzles. This range of puzzles can be used by people with different skill levels. They've been designed with both the patient and the carer in mind. Something to be enjoyed by everyone.
The jigsaws are great for hand and eye coordination and the colourful photographs present a more realistic view of the world. Jigsaw puzzles are easy to do with the click of a mouse button and can be played over and over.
There's an audible click when pieces are placed in the correct position and the player is congratulated when the jigsaw puzzle is complete, giving that sense of accomplishment. Best of all you can't lose the pieces.
Puzzles are not printable, they're designed to be used on a computer or laptop or even on a large screen via a data projector, interactive white board or connected to a touch screen.
Internet access is not required but it's handy to research some of the places in or subjects of the puzzles. A true learning resource which can be the basis for activities. They're great for armchair travel too.
These photos are of two cruise ships, the “Queen Mary 2” and the “Dawn Princess”, “CMA CGM Lavender” cargo ship, Captain Cook cruise ships, “MV Sydney 2000” and ARA “Presidente Sarmiento” sailing ship in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Sure to bring back memories for people who have been travelling or cruising or just love the sea and ships.
Ideal to link this with the “Getting Around” and “Maritime Mix” DVDs and “Terrific Transport” activities CD.
