Seaview House Residential Care SRS

Seaview House Residential Care Inc is a purpose-built Supported Residential Service, which has recently become a community managed, not-for-profit business. No bonds or ingoings apply and a range of rooms with differing rates are available. We are open to both permanent and short term stay residents, as well as respite care.

Seaview House is situated on a cliff top with scenic views over Portland Bay and the busy Port of Portland. The movement of the large ships and the commercial and recreational fishing fleets in and out of the harbour and the sailing boats racing in the Bay all add great interest to the views. Marine wildlife such as whales, dolphins and seals provide some amazing spectacles from time to time.

The location of Seaview House close to the centre of town is ideal, with the shopping precinct, cafes, churches, and doctor’s surgeries all within walking distance. The foreshore parklands, marinas and safe swimming beach are adjacent to the shopping precinct. Seaview House is situated next to the hospital and to a high care residential aged care facility, with a town bus service with a stop outside.

Sporting facilities in Portland include two lawn bowling clubs, a beautiful golf course, a croquet club set in the historic Botanic Gardens, lawn tennis courts and ample fishing spots on the wharves and marinas. Other attractions include the Portland Powerhouse Motor and Car Museum, as well as the Portland Cable Tram Service and displays. There is an active arts community in Portland, providing many opportunities for involvement. All the usual service clubs have chapters in Portland.

Seaview House was purpose-built as a SRS in 2002, providing several areas where residents can socialise with family and friends including a large sitting room, two small sitting rooms with balconies overlooking the sea, three kitchenettes with adjacent dining tables, a bar, a library/computer room and an outdoor sitting area with BBQ. All sea view rooms also have balconies or porches.

Residents are encouraged to participate in community activities as well as in in-house activities.

Supported Residential Services provide personal support and accommodation in a shared living environment. This support may include assistance with showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meals and medication, as well as physical and emotional support. All meals at Seaview House are freshly cooked in the on site kitchen and all laundry is done in house.
