The Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged (ACHA) Program supports people who are aged over 60, on a low income and are homeless or living in insecure accommodation such as rental, caravan, hotel or boarding house settings and at risk of homelessness, for reasons such as:
- rental accommodation is unsuitable, temporary or too expensive
- staying at home has become too difficult
- they face a crisis, eviction or their lease has not been renewed
- changes to their health and independence.
The Coordinator works to find better, affordable, secure, on-going accommodation and to access aged care support services. Resthaven’s ACHA Program supports people living in northern and eastern metropolitan Adelaide. We also offer ACHA in Murraylands, Limestone Coast and Riverland areas.
Resthaven accepts referrals from other organisations, health care providers, advocates and family members. We encourage people to refer themselves if they require assistance.
