Ninety-three-year-old Victorian Len Sheppard, from Lifeview’s The Willows aged care home, blew the audience away with his vocal performance of the 1918 song, ‘I'm forever blowing bubbles’.
Mr Sheppard (pictured) was among some of Lifeview’s residents to shine like stars last week as part of the care provider’s annual positive ageing celebration event titled ‘Lifeview’s Got Talent’, a spin-off of Channel Seven’s Australia Got Talent.
In June, residents were busy practising for their routines, which included dancing, singing, comedy and group acts.
Surprising the residents earlier this year, and joining in at The Willows home in Wheelers Hill, was Channel Seven’s Dancing with the Stars dancer Melanie Hooper, who was the dance partner of Australian rock music singer and actor Brian Mannix.
Residents from five Lifeview homes had been rehearsing all year for their acts and creating props and costumes – and the hard work paid off!
“It was the best day I've had in a long time. I loved being on stage and truly look forward to next year’s event,” Harold Talty, a Lifeview resident at The Willows home, said.
