Macleod Cottage (Respite)
About
Caring for an older person at home can be a rewarding experience but it can also be a physically and emotionally demanding role for the caregiver. At Mercy Health Macleod Cottage we understand the needs of older people and those living with dementia, and those who are caring for them.
Have peace of mind leaving your family member in our care when you take a well-deserved break to recharge. We offer a variety of respite options whether for a few hours or several days, in a warm and inviting home-like environment. Our cottage can accommodate up to five people overnight and ten people during the day. Day respite is a great option if you wish to pop out for a few hours, or need an occasional day off. With five bedrooms including one for couples, our cottage offers a safe environment with all the comforts of home.
Overnight respite can be arranged on an occasional, regular, planned or short-stay emergency basis. Overnight stays can vary from one night up to six consecutive nights.
You can access our respite services either through a government-funded program such as the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), as a private client through your Home Care Package or as a self-funded retiree.
