Among those taking to the stage in support of partnerships between technology start-ups and aged care providers is Chief Executive Officer of Billy - Rob Deeming.
Mr Deeming says while he has spoken at a number of conferences about technology in aged care, this is his first time attending and speaking at the annual ITAC event.
“It is my first time going and I am really happy to be taking part because I believe as an industry we need to start elevating the focus on this type of thing.
“I have presented about Billy in the past and everyone has been really enthusiastic about - we always get a lot of questions and follow up from the industry - as is the way for a lot of tech companies in this space.
“For ITAC, I won’t be focussing so much on Billy specifically, but more so my personal perceptions on how aged care providers can work with start-ups in positive ways.
“I will also be discussing key concepts around what we do, how it can make aged care easier, and how important it is for us to embrace technology more.”
As well as presenting, Mr Deeming says he is excited for the opportunity to hear others speak about technology within aged care.
“I will definitely be attending a lot of the sessions,” he says.
“ITAC 2018 has a great program and I am very keen to hear what the keynotes and other speakers have to say and hear more start-ups start discussions.
“There is a lot on the agenda!”
Mr Deeming will take to the stage on day 2 of ITAC 2018, Thursday 22 November from 11am, as part of Concurrent Session B ‘Will the smart home be the smartphone of the 2020’s’.
The full program of speakers is available to view online along with more information about ITAC 2018.
