The $37 million project will provide housing for 110 residents as well as provide 800 jobs during construction, and more than 130 ongoing caring, health, administration and management roles upon completion.

Located close to a shopping precinct and arts centre, Helping Hand Chief Executive Officer Ian Hardy says the new facility will meet growing demand for ageing services in the established community in an area currently under-supplied with aged care services.

“Our new home will help provide a service for the local community who will want to remain close to families, friends and within their neighbourhood as they age,” Mr Hardy says.

“We are very excited to be able to provide Helping Hand’s high standards of residential care in Golden Grove and look forward to bringing the most advanced design and service concepts to this contemporary build.”

Once the build is completed in January 2019, the home will feature a welcoming environment, sensory gardens, light and airy spaces, comfortable areas for relaxing and will cater to all aged care needs with dedicated areas specialising in memory support, respite and palliative care.

The project has been designed by Walter Brooke architects and is being managed by Kennett Builders.

The new home will be the ninth residential aged care home in South Australia for the provider with other homes located across regional and metropolitan areas.
