Chairman of the Guild, Ross Johnston, made the announcement that Matthew Richter would take over the role from interim CEO Lee Hill, welcoming the highly acclaimed Mr Richter to the organisation.

“On behalf of all our members, I want to welcome Matthew to the Aged Care Guild,” Mr Johnston says.

“We believe his wealth of experience in the government, health and financial sectors will serve the Guild well as we continue to grow the Guild’s profile and work alongside policy makers to ensure the industry needs are met.

Mr Richter joins the guild following his successful eight year tenure with the ACT Health Directorate, and career experience in other policy roles across the ACT Government as well as roles in the financial services industry.

Following the welcome and official announcement that he will be taking the permanent position over in June, Mr Richter shared his excitement about the opportunity.

“I’m looking forward to continuing the Aged Care Guild’s advocacy work in the sector,” he explains.

“A key priority for the Guild is working to secure a sustainable funding plan that meets the needs of our ageing Australians and keeps the issues that we face as an industry a priority for the Government.

“This is critical to ensure that the sector is able to continue to provide the range of quality services needed by the growing number of ageing Australians.”
