IRT introduce new innovative on-demand service delivery platform

Developed and launched by care provider IRT Group, the e-commerce platform aims to make access to care services more convenient, and fills a gap in service provision for people in the waiting list for Government funded home care.

IRT General Manager – Home Care, Gy Wallace, says that with no lock-in contracts and private payment up front, the home care platform can provide flexible home support, on demand when it is needed most.

“In an era of Consumer Directed Care, our new on-demand home care services platform is the next logical step in service delivery, using innovation to help seniors stay at home longer,” he says.

“We are delighted to be increasing the accessibility of our existing home care services by introducing this online platform.

“[It] offers an interim solution for those who urgently require home care [and] it is also perfect for family members who need help with respite for their ageing loved ones.”

The services available include home maintenance, gardening, cooking and cleaning, and personal care like grooming, bathing and showering, assistance with dressing, and manicure or pedicure treatments.

Mr Wallace says consumers can also request assistance with coordinating health management and wellbeing needs like regular fitness activities, physiotherapy and other allied health services.

He adds that the platform will initially service the area from Helensburg to Kiama in New South Wales, but may be expanded to cover all IRT’s operational regions depending on customer trends and needs.

“IRT’s mission has always been to create communities where seniors can achieve their optimum quality of life,” he says.

Federal Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Ken Wyatt says he supports the innovative ways of the nation’s aged care providers, adding that the Government is also working to provide greater support through their Increasing Choice in Home Care changes.

“I welcome providers innovating and improving their service offer to older Australians, and harnessing technology to support people as they age, and remain independent in their own homes,” he says.

“The development of more flexible and responsive services like these highlight the positive impact of our aged care reforms.

“The new consumer-focussed and market driven home care system allows for new models of care, greater competition, and genuine innovation by all.”
