A new era for the Aged Care Guild

Mr Johnston made the announcement stating that Cameron O’Reilly is leaving to take up a senior position advising the New South Wales Government on energy policy, an area he has in depth industry knowledge of.

Mr O’Reilly receives nothing but praise from Mr Johnston who says the CEO has been a “highly effective” advocate for the aged care sector.

He adds that as CEO, Mr O’Reilly has been “instrumental” in raising the profile of the Guild with Federal and state government stakeholders in the organisations role as advocate for the development of sustainable aged care that delivers consumer choice; and that his successor will have a very solid base from which to advance the organisations agenda of ensuring that aged care remains a key priority for government.

“On behalf of all our members, I thank Cameron for his contribution and dedication and wish him well in his new role,” Mr Johnston says.

“We have commenced a search, led by InterSearch Australia, for his successor and will make a further announcement in due course.”

Mr O’Reilly was appointed the role of CEO of the Aged Care Guild in July 2015 and prior to that, he spent nine years as the Chief Executive of the Energy Retailers Association of Australia, the peak body for retailers of electricity and gas in Australia’s energy market.

Aside from his role as CEO of the Aged Care Guild, Mr O’Reilly has been involved in a number of other roles including Non-Executive Director of energy retailer Aurora Energy and former Non-Executive of Mojo Power.
