Welcome

Maybanke Aged Care Centre offers a supportive atmosphere in a beautiful heritage-listed building in Sydney’s Inner West. The building looks out onto spectacular gardens and provides a range of communal areas for residents to welcome visiting family and friends, including our large outdoor courtyard.

A homely atmosphere, our Centre has just 38 rooms and our staff and residents are a part of a close-knit community. Our home has been designed with residents’ comfort, security and sense of belonging in mind.

Conveniently located, our Centre has links to public transport and local services and shops.

We have close ties with the local community and over time, we have built a strong reputation that cares for others and provides quality aged care services.

Our Services

Maybanke Aged Care Centre offers 24-hour permanent residential care including memory support and palliative care; and respite (short-term) care. We also offer eligible residents in-house NDIS services.

Our qualified and compassionate staff are committed to providing quality care to our residents and help them live their best lives. We adopt a person-centred approach to care, with our staff going beyond the clinical to cater for the overall holistic wellbeing of our residents.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training as well to make sure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

We offer single rooms with ensuite bathrooms, designed for our residents’ comfort and security. All rooms have a 24-hour emergency call system for added peace of mind. Other features include:

  • Electronically adjustable bed
  • Cupboards
  • Views of gardens and tree-lined streets
  • TV and phone connections available

This is your home, you are most welcome to bring in your own favourite items - photos, mementos and accessories to dress the room to your own taste and preferences. *

*All items must meet the Centre's work, health and safety guidelines.

Meals are cooked daily onsite by a qualified chef in consultation with the dietician. The menu is regularly rotated to promote choice and take advantage of what is in season. Each meal has a selection of high protein, vegetarian and modified options. We also cater for special dietary and cultural requirements.

Nutrition programs can also be organised as required.

We take fun quite seriously! The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents through regular resident meetings. These include gardening, games, aeorobics for the mind, art therapy, animal therapy, movies, walks, celebrations, sports and much more. We also have a Centre bus for outings.

Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including podiatry and optometry. We have physiotherapy once or twice each week.

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have our own chapel located onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.
