Welcome

Moyne Aged Care Centre is a warm, close-knit community located in Canowindra, NSW. The Centre is a single-storey, heritage-listed building, surrounded by sweeping, magnificent country views. The Centre overlooks the Belubula River and the Lucerne flats and is just a few minutes from the Canowindra town centre.

At Moyne Aged Care Centre, we strive to help our residents live their best lives, implementing as many as programs as possible to cater for a variety of interests and care needs and providing all the comforts of home with quality amenities. We have a dedicated team of staff, and many have been with us long-term so residents can trust they are receiving quality, holistic care.

Our homestead façade, homely setting with spacious interiors and serene surroundings provide the perfect place for aged care in country NSW. Feel right at home with our person-centred model of care.

We also have strong ties with the local community, and over time have built a reputation as an organisation that genuinely cares for others in need without discrimination.

Our Services

At Moyne Aged Care Centre, we offer permanent residential care including dementia and palliative care; and respite (short-term) care. We also offer eligible residents in-house NDIS services.

Our staff and Chaplain go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our residents. Our residents are in good hands with our friendly, compassionate and qualified staff who treat our residents like family and whose aim is to ensure all residents receive the best care.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training as well to make sure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

Moyne Aged Care Centre offers a variety of single and twin rooms designed with residents’ comfort and security in mind. Each room has:

  • TV connection available
  • Built-in cupboards
  • Air conditioning
  • Electronically adjustable beds
  • 24-hour emergency call system for added peace of mind
  • Surrounding country views

This is your home, you are most welcome to bring in your own favourite items - photos, mementos and accessories to dress the room to your own taste and preferences.*

*All items must meet the Centre's work, health and safety guidelines.

Our approach to dementia care is led by each resident’s interests, feelings and emotions. We respect the rich lives they have led by tailoring our care based on their personal history in a dedicated dementia-friendly environment.

Meals are cooked daily onsite by a qualified chef in consultation with the dietician. The menu is regularly rotated to promote choice and take advantage of what is in season. Each meal has a selection of high protein, vegetarian and modified options. We also cater for special dietary and cultural requirements.

Nutrition programs can also be organised as required.

We take fun quite seriously! The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents via resident meetings including regular visiting entertainers, outings, painting, gardening and creative projects. We are big on creating a home at our Centre and have Centre pets such as our pet chickens and cats.

We also have an exercise program with a physiotherapist 5 times a week and daily walks with our Lifestyle team or physiotherapist.

Our residents can enjoy using our centre bus, onsite hairdressing salon, library, outdoor gym, multi-purpose room with pool table and relaxing in our landscaped gardens.

Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including physiotherapist, podiatrist, speech therapist and optometrist.

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have a chapel onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.
