Glenview provides a range of services to people living in their own homes.
Home Care Packages (HCPs) Levels 2 to 4: are available to aged clients who need some help to remain living in their own home. These packages are available across Southern Tasmania, including rural and remote areas.
Banksia Day Centre is situated in a lovely old home opposite Glenview in Windsor Street in Glenorchy. It offers a wide range of social and recreational support to the frail aged and younger people with a physical disability. Transport for Banksia is provided by the Community Transport Scheme and clients pay a contribution towards the cost of transport and support.
Banksia Men’s Shed is open Monday to Saturday. The Shed is for men over 65 and provides them opportunity to socialise in a supported “men only” environment doing the things they love to do in a shed!
Banksia Night Owls offers an evening out weekly. Clients choose a venue for weekly outings such as a meal, concert, BBQ or a trip to the races. Clients are picked up from their home at around 4.00pm and escorted home at about 10.00pm.
Bisdee House is a service to support carers and is located in the grounds of Glenview. It is open from 8.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Saturday and guests are free to come for as long or short a time as they like, and as often as they like. There are several living areas and a library with a wide range of books, magazines, movies and music. All meals are provided but a kitchen enables guests and their visitors to make themselves at home with a cuppa or a bite to eat. Bisdee offers a range of “clubs” that are tailored to meet the needs of the participants - they include Craft, Music, Out and About, Men’s Shed, Culture Vultures and Mystery Day.
Cottage Respite provided at Bisdee House offers a very different respite experience and welcomes overnight guests. Bisdee House has well appointed bedrooms, all with ensuites. Cottage Respite is a flexible service and bookings can be made at short notice. Clients can stay for short periods of time, starting from one night or longer stays, depending on the client’s need. No ACAT assessment is required.
