“My family believes our residents deserve nothing less
than excellence.” - Douglas Thompson AM,
Proprietor Thompson Health Care

With ten nursing homes in New South Wales stretching from Bowral in the southern Highlands to Kempsey on the mid-north coast, Thompson Health Care is a family owned and operated company. Each home offers 24-hour Registered Nurse assistance with individually tailored care.

Our commitment to continuous quality improvement is second to none, and we offer attention to detail like no other. The diverse lifestyle and recreation programs in all our homes provide residents with opportunity to engage in social and recreational activities and experiences. With an on-site chef in each home, meals are prepared daily featuring seasonal meals and comforting favourites.

Doug Thompson has managed the group for over 45 years, and his three daughters have all elected to continue the tradition of care, each contributing their individual professional skills.

We take pride in our well-educated staff and Thompson Health Care is dedicated in our duty to continuously educate our staff so our residents and their families can feel secure in the knowledge they are receiving the best care.

In keeping with Thompson Health Care’s outstanding reputation Douglas Thompson AM had the great honour of being awarded a Member of the Order of Australia in 2014 for significant service to aged care. He received this from Professor The Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AD, CVO, then Governor of New South Wales.

Macleay Valley House

Maclay Valley House offers luxurious living on the mid-north coast, central to many of the towns and centres of the district, so you won’t be far from family, friends and community.

Large ensuite rooms offer residents a private retreat complete with scenic views. Our facilities include a movie theatre, a non-denominational chapel with stunning stained glass, interior designed spaces and there’s even a playground for the grandchildren. Residents enjoy exercise activities, a walking group and a craft group. Of course there’s a men’s group with fishing outings and picnics around the magnificent Valley.

Relax with a stroll through the beautiful gardens or a cuppa on the covered verandah overlooking the farmlands and distant hills. There’s always time for a cappuccino in the coffee shop or you might like a glass of wine before dinner, cooked by our own chef, or go sightseeing tour on our own bus, get pampered in the in-house beauty and hair salon, or enjoy massage and aromatherapy.

Of course there is also internet access, onsite salon and beautician and physiotherapy. General Practitioner services are available or your own doctor may visit at any time.
