We recognise the importance of being good listeners, and our staff derives great satisfaction from getting to know and understand residents, and building a rapport which enables them to provide care and assistance to residents in an environment of familiarity, comfort and trust.
At Villa Serena, we recognise that whilst many of our residents require high levels of professional care and support, it is fundamental to one’s self esteem and spirit to continue being active participants in life, and to remain socially and mentally stimulated. We also recognise that the nature, form and extent of this participation will necessarily vary for each individual.
We take an inclusive and flexible approach with all activities and program development for residents, encourage the participation of family, friends and pets, and place a strong focus on maintaining community links.
Villa Serena’s entertainment and activities team includes a diversional therapist, and is responsible for organising regular and appropriate outings and activities such as local shopping trips, movies and theatre performances.
