Located on Edmund Rice Drive in Ashmore on the Gold Coast, De Paul Villa is owned and operated by the Southport Catholic Parish and is part of a broader community that encompasses the Mary Immaculate Church, primary and secondary schools, childcare and the award winning De Paul Manor Estate retirement community.
De Paul Villa commenced operation in 1991 with a mission 'To promote and deliver to the community a quality, caring service in a Christian environment'. The award winning facility caters for a broad range of special care needs including: permanent care, dementia care, respite care and pastoral care.
De Paul Villa endeavours to support and assist residents within their chosen place of accommodation. Our primary focus is to always meet the needs of our residents for holistic care including spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual requirements. The aim is to ensure that residents, carers, and families of residents will be extended the utmost respect and dignity, empowering our residents to achieve maximum independence and self determination.
A team of happy dedicated kitchen staff prepare and cook a tasty range of scrumptious, seasonal home-cooked meals daily, which are dietarily approved. Nutritious, wholesome and well presented meals are our number one priority, along with accommodating for each individuals tastes at meal times. Special diets such as diabetic, vitamised or religious needs are also catered for.
Many of the residents are involved in a broad range of social activities, special interest groups, group outings, clubs, committees and volunteer groups. Staff ‘Cruise Directors’ organise anything from bingo, indoor bowls and board games to visiting entertainers and themed dinner dances. The 3.5m x 4m movie screen is always popular for movie nights or sporting events.
Our special pets include Princess Pookey, the Maltese Terrier who is never short of affection from the residents and an aviary with all types of birds.
Residents have the choice of nominating their own doctor and allied health professionals. De Paul Villa suggests that residents choose a doctor who will call at the home and undertake care on a 24-hour basis. De Paul Villa also has two regular doctors who visit every week.
