Churches of Christ in Queensland Aged Care Service Crows Nest is situated amongst beautiful scenery, national parks, boutique eateries, art galleries and the pleasure of country hospitality. The service complex can accommodate residents requiring either low or high level care, with provisions made for residents assessed with special needs. In addition, Home Care Packages and Independent Living Units with options for aged care rentals are available on site.
There is a wide range of aged care services within the Crows Nest facility: high level care (nursing home care) is provided from Tulloch House, a 28-bed service located in the spacious grounds of the facility. Tulloch House provides care in two-bed rooms with adjacent bathrooms. Sitting rooms, an activities area and easy access to the outside make Tulloch House a home-like environment for both residents and staff. A palliative care area has been built and staff trained to meet the needs of residents and families needing this service.
Cooinda – special needs: A secure, 19-bed unit meets the needs of people with special needs. The eastern wing of Cooinda is fully air-conditioned with single ensuited rooms, each having access to landscaped gardens.
Kooltoopa – low level care: Kooltoopa is home to 41 residents, living in ensuited, single rooms. Sunny sitting rooms, together with spacious entertainment areas, both inside and outdoors, compliment life at Kooltoopa. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with photos and furniture of their choosing. All rooms have easy access to outside areas and comfortable sitting areas inside.
The staff at Crows Nest have a strong commitment not only to provide physical care, but to also enrich the lives of residents. Social, emotional and spiritual needs are met wherever possible. The following services are available:
