Churches of Christ Care Aged Care Service Inglewood, located in southwest Queensland, is reminiscent of a country homestead built amongst tall gum trees. Green lawns add to the rural environment, creating an inviting welcome to the facility.
Residents enjoy living in a small aged care service where they access a full range of care services to meet their needs as they age.
Inglewood is designed to promote a home-like environment where residents are encouraged to maintain their independence. Each of the 10 residents has their own individual room with ensuite facilities. Each room has direct access to both inside and outside areas of the service.
Inglewood is climate controlled for the residents’ comfort. The ambience of a homelike environment is enhanced with a wood burning heater in the family room. The home style kitchen is where all meals are prepared and served in the spacious family rooms. The lounge room, private dining room and solariums provide ample provision for residents to maintain their contact with family and friends in private surroundings.
The staff at Inglewood have a strong commitment not only to provide physical care, but to also enrich the lives of residents. Social, emotional and spiritual needs are met wherever possible. The facility is renowned for the enthusiasm with which residents and staff celebrate with the community. Each year, the facility stages a number of events which attract large numbers of locals and visitors alike.
The service owned bus provides transport to local attractions and events, encouraging residents to remain connected with the Inglewood community. Local doctors and physiotherapists visit the facility as needed, and visiting ministers of religion provide support to residents and staff. Dedicated volunteers share their time and skills with residents and support staff in maintaining the full lifestyle program.
