Chestnut Gardens Aged Care

Opened in December 2008, Chestnut Gardens Aged Care Home is a new purpose-built 100 place home in Doveton, close to the Dandenong town centre.

Chestnut Gardens is staffed by highly qualified and caring staff. Highly skilled and experienced Division 1 and 2 Nurses, allied health and diversional therapy staff provide and coordinate the care, support and activities which assist residents to enjoy a stimulating and enjoyable lifestyle. Staff provide a warm and friendly environment where visits from family and friends are always welcome.

Chestnut Gardens has single rooms with ensuite, large resident activity, lounge and dining rooms, a library, gymnasium and therapy room. A limited number of double rooms with ensuite are available for couples, friends or residents who prefer to share.

Each resident room is cabled for personal telephone, television and computer and each of the eight resident houses has a quiet sitting room overlooking the extensive gardens.

Separate lounge areas facilitate both active and quiet relaxation and residents' personal hobbies and two lounges have large plasma screens with Foxtel.

Abundant natural light in all areas and extensive outdoor recreation and garden areas complete a quiet, relaxing and friendly environment for residents, families and visitors.

Chestnut Gardens is staffed and designed to manage the needs of high care residents who have special mental health, behaviour management and complex health care needs while providing opportunities for residents to build and maintain supportive relationships with each other, our staff and volunteers and their own families and visitors.
