A healthy varied three course meal every day, with a traditional roast on Thursday and Sunday.
Monthly Themed Lunches
On one Wednesday each month a fun Theme Lunch is held. Previous special lunches have included Christmas in July, Chinese Banquet and Spit Roast’s. These are special days where everyone is invited to get into the spirit of the things.
Fortnightly Film Afternoon
A range of films, from classic to modern are shown on Wednesday afternoons, followed by afternoon tea. View monthly calendar of films or pick one up from the Canterbury Centre.
A range of day trips including lunch to interesting locations around Melbourne. All clients with various degrees of mobility are welcome and bookings are required
Boroondara Blokes – Men’s Group
The Men’s group provides the opportunity for men to get together and enjoy each others company through social outings. Some of the places we have visited include Kyneton RSL, Badger Creek, Mornington Hotel & Launching Place Hotel, Yarra Valley.
Gentle Exercise to Music
A gentle exercise class is conducted by an accredited Vic-Fit instructor. The aim of the class is to increase strength, balance and flexibility. The class can be taken either standing or sitting, and participants are encouraged to go at their own pace.
Strength Training and Fitness
A gentle weights program is conducted by our qualified instructor. The program is specifically designed for older people and includes a range of weights and other equipment.
Falls Prevention Classes
The focus is on maintaining regular exercise in a group for social contact and easier motivation.
A hairdresser is available at the Canterbury Centre and the Marwal Centre (see timetable for available days). Our hairdressers are qualified and able to provide a full range of services. Bookings are necessary.
The class is held in the craft room at the Canterbury Centre and conducted by a qualified instructor. All levels of proficiency, from beginner to advanced are catered for. Afternoon tea included.
A group meets for pottery in our craft room at the Canterbury Centre every week. Classes are given by a qualified instructor and all levels of proficiency are catered for.
Transport is available to lunch and many activities at the Canterbury Centre for those who live within a five kilometre radius of the Centre. Bookings are required for this service.
