Bupa Mount Sheridan in Cairns (previously known as Sheridan Community Aged Care) provides quality care for 120 residents in the tropical far north of Queensland. With a vast range of accommodation choice for both high care and low care residents, Mount Sheridan offers ageing in place, giving residents a continuity of care as their needs change.
The bedrooms are of varying sizes to accommodate residents with different requirements, with some larger rooms able to cater for those who require more space. All rooms are singles with ensuites and provide residents with their own outdoor space. Sliding doors, with secure fly screen, lead onto shaded verandas where residents can enjoy the benefits of the tropical weather. Air conditioning keeps the home cool throughout the summer months and each bedroom comes with a ceiling fan. Fixtures, fittings and furnishings are of the highest standard, as are electrical installations to ensure efficiency.
Outside there are a range of shaded sitting areas and courtyards to enjoy the sea breeze and participate in activities. Other residents enjoy the opportunity to catch up with friends or family in the care home’s gardens, or in one of the many welcoming living areas. A hairdressing salon pampers residents while a range of other activity rooms are available. A new wing has been approved for the site for Bupa Mount Sheridan to further expand their care offering to the Cairns community.
