Baptcare offers a variety of social activity groups to individuals 65 years and above, who are living at home and have the desire to remain connected to their community. These services are available through our day centres. Individuals have access to a range of exciting programs including tai chi, craft sessions, music groups and outings.
This program is jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments.
Planned Activity Groups (PAGs)
Baptcare provides PAGs that are suitable for older adults and adults with disabilities. The aim of the program is to keep those who may be socially isolated, active within the community.
- Walking groups
- Day outings
- Guest speakers
- Armchair travel
- Exercise and physical games
- Culturally specific activities
- Café lunches
- Coffee groups.
Clients are encouraged to make their own arrangements. However, a minibus can be made available by arrangement to assist with your transport needs. Taxis may also be used and we encourage all our clients to use their half price taxi cards. Baptcare can assist by meeting travel related expenses. Please ask the Coordinator at your site.
If you are experiencing difficulty in paying fees, please contact the coordinator who will discuss the most suitable options for your situation. We treat all enquiries with confidentiality and respect. If you are unable to pay fees, you will not be disadvantaged in accessing our programs.
People 65 years and above and older people with a disability.
Anyone can make a referral to our planned activity groups. We will accept referrals from:
- Your doctor
- Your local health centre
- Family, a friend or neighbour
Adult Day Respite
The adult day respite program offers carers a break from their daily care giving responsibilities. This includes services for the frail aged and people with early dementia.
Day respite is offered during the week and on weekends. Times are negotiable depending on what suits the carer best. We can provide ongoing regular bookings, occasional bookings and respite care at short notice when the unexpected arises. All care is delivered by qualified and experienced carers.
