My professional background is in mental health, addictions and special education with over 12 years’ of clinical experience in these fields.
I have a strong history of supporting adults with mental health and substance use problems in community, inpatient, and correctional settings. I also have a strong interest in using psychological strategies for chronic pain management and supporting people who work in stressful work environments. I also have extensive experience working with children with developmental disorders, disabilities, and severe behavioural difficulties. I have a Master’s degree in psychology and I am a full member of the Australian Psychological Society.
I'm also very passionate about research. My Masters thesis examined the wellbeing of teachers and factors that influenced their wellbeing. I have carried out qualitative and quantitative quality assurance research projects to improve client care and student outcomes and to access funding. Some of these projects have resulted in systemic and policy change within the organisation and have been published in an international peer reviewed journal.
I work to the highest degree of ethical practice and professionalism. I have a strong history of working in a team of professionals and working safely young of all ages from diverse backgrounds cultures. I am a calm person with excellent communication skills who is compassionate and empathetic with a genuine desire to help others.
