- Care for the Carer
Our Day Therapy Centre operates within three broad objectives of supporting people to:
Be Well – all of our programs focus on supporting seniors to optimise strengths and capacities, and improve health and wellbeing in ways defined as important to each individual. Our programs assist people to improve their social connection and emotional wellbeing, regain physical function, increase flexibility, improve chronic disease management and maintain a healthy weight. We employ a range of specialist staff within our programs who are available to support seniors to improve their health and wellbeing in a broad range of areas.
Have Fun – we want the seniors who attend our centres to experience an increase in their independence while enjoying a sense of fun. We plan and facilitate activities that build on how seniors want to enjoy their day – focussing on activities that build a sense of community within and outside the programs, enable participants to engage in activities they enjoy, build new skills, interests and capacities. Our goal is to see people going home happy with their day but also empowered to maintain their levels of independence at home.
Be You – participation in our day programs is open to a wide range of seniors. We focus on people’s strengths and individuality to shape our programs, and rely on the input of participants to create meaningful and enjoyable activities.
