Victoria’s leading aged care peak body, Aged & Community Care Victoria (ACCV) has announced a change of name.
ACCV will now be known as Leading Age Services Australia – Victoria (LASA Victoria).
The name change was in line with the formation of the new, national peak body for age services, Leading Age Services Australia (LASA), based in Canberra.
Acting chief executive, Kate Hough, said the change would not alter the organisation’s values, purpose or variety and quality of member services and support.
“Our core values and services remain unchanged. LASA Victoria exists to promote, encourage and assist the health and care needs of aged and community care clients and support our members by providing accurate, relevant information, services and advice,” she explained.
According to Ms Hough, as part of the national LASA federation, LASA Victoria members would benefit from enhanced services and information.
“[We will also have] the opportunity for greater, national influence and advocacy,” she added.
LASA Victoria has also launched a new website at www.vic.lasa.asn.au
