Southhaven Nursing Home and Hostel are nestled in bushland on the banks of Salt Pan Creek in Padstow Heights. This beautiful natural setting creates a quiet living environment away from the noise of the suburbs.

As an integrated care facility, the Southhaven site hosts both a nursing home for high dependency residents and a hostel for those who require a lower level of nursing care.

This design allows an easy transition as the dependency needs of our residents change over time. Professional nursing staff are on duty 24 hours a day to meet the needs of each individual resident with compassion and dignity.

The bushland setting is important to Southhaven. Residents can enjoy the gardens on their own or with family and friends while taking advantage of the various barbecue facilities.

High Level Care - for those who are physically dependent or frail and require high dependency full time nursing care. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their belongings to make it feel more like home. Facilities include:

  • Single and shared rooms
  • Balcony rooms available with bushland views
  • Fully air-conditioned and heated.

Low level care - accommodation for residents who require some assistance with daily activities but who still maintain a level of independence. Facilities include:

  • Single and double rooms with ensuite facilities and built-in wardrobes.
  • All rooms have balconies, many available with bush and water views.
  • Well appointed and spacious recreation and dining areas encourage companionship and resident interaction.

There is also accommodation available in both the nursing home and hostel for those seeking short term respite care.

Residents at Southhaven enjoy a busy calendar of events designed to promote an active and healthy lifestyle and encourage social interaction. These include:

  • Entertainment, activities, craft classes and singing sessions
  • On-site Hairdresser
  • Volunteer program
  • Pastoral care services available offering emotional and spiritual support to residents and their families
  • Multi-denominational church services
  • Allied health services
  • Bus outings with wheelchair access
  • Volunteer and pastoral program
  • Wireless internet access
  • Diverse activity programs.

We believe the quality of food is important to our residents' health and wellbeing and we provide freshly prepared meals that are nutritious and delicious. Our menus are regularly monitored and updated by a qualified Nutritionist. Residents' individual dietary requirements are catered for.

Southhaven seeks to continually improve its capabilities and services through regular consultation and feedback from residents and their families.
